A tribute to Prince Philip

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh
6 February 1952 - 9 April 2021
Prince Philip, the husband of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth died on April 9 2021. He was 99 years old.

Prince Philip's name was Philip Mountbatten. His official name was Duke of Edinburgh.
He was also Prince of Greece and Prince of Denmark. He had been married to Queen Elizabeth II for 73 years.
Balmoral Castle, in Scotland
He loved Scotland and spending time in Balmoral Castle.
It is one of the Royals' castles, with Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle (where his funerals took place).
Playing polo

Playing cricket
He was also very sporty. When he was younger he played polo and cricket.
Carriage driving
He kept practising carriage driving until his 90s.
In the Royal Navy
Before marrying the Queen, Prince Philip was a soldier in the Royal Navy.
Working for the World Wildlife Fund*
He was passionate with animals and very involved in the environment. He founded the WWF* in the United Kingdom.

The British royal family said in a statement,
“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.”
“His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle. Further announcements will be made in due course. The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.”

Thank you for your tribute to Prince Philip. I feel so sad for Queen Elizabeth and the people of Britain.
He sure had a long and fulfilled life.

Sorry dear! It was fake news for April Fools' Day! :-) I wish we got rid of it! On the contrary, all schools are closed again for 4 weeks due to a new increase in the number of cases... So back to remote teaching and learning! Keep the positive attitude! K.L
