MAYDAY! MAYDAY!
Do you know the story about the expression "MAYDAY"?
You have probably already heard in a film, a pilot shouting "MAYDAY, MAYDAY, MAYDAY!" when he was in danger.
BUT WHY?
The story starts in the 1920s, when a senior radio officer, Frederick Mockford was in charge of choosing an expression for the distress call.
At that time, he was working with French pilots who crossed the Channel from Le Bourget airport to Croydon airport.
So, he decided to choose an expression that was easy to understand by everybody.

MAY BASKETS
What is a May basket? Where does this tradition come from?
On May 1st, American people traditionally offer paper May baskets filled with sweets or flowers.
They usually leave them on the doorstep or hang them to their family or friends' doorknobs.
Lovers can also make May baskets to show their love to each other.
