March

What is an idiom?

An idiom is a group of words which means something else than what you think.

A very famous English idiom is "It's raining cats and dogs", which means: "It's raining a lot! "

In French, we would say: "Il pleut des cordes" which is not true, of course!

It's cool if you know a few idioms and can use them in your conversation, this shows you are quite good in English.
